112 stranded Bangladesh citizens return home by 2nd special flight from USA (Video)

UsaNewsOnline.Com, New York : The 2^nd special flight with 112 Bangladesh citizens stranded in the U.S.A. amid coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has departed for Bangladesh today (Saturday) on 06 June 2020 from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York.

Ms. Sadia Faizunnesa, Consul General of Bangladesh in New York was present at the JFK Airport to see off the stranded Bangladeshi citizens.

The special chartered flight (QR3458) of Qatar Airlines took off at 9:00am from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York and will arrive at Doha International Airport at 4:30am on 07 June 2020. Flight QR3390, carrying the stranded Bangladeshi citizens, will leave Doha at 8:45am and is scheduled to reach Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on 07 June 2020 at 4:45pm (local time).

All passengers will have to carry Covid-19 symptom-free medical certificates. On arrival at Dhaka airport, the passengers will have to submit Health Declaration Forms to Bangladesh Immigration officials.

The Ministry of the Foreign Affairs chartered the 2^nd special flight of Qatar Airlines to bring home the stranded Bangladeshis in the USA. Earlier, the Bangladesh Embassy in D.C. and the two Consulates General in New York and Los Angeles, on an instruction of the Foreign Ministry, circulated a notice in their websites seeking information from the Bangladeshis who had been stranded in USA amid COVID- 19 pandemic situation.

A large number of stranded Bangladeshi citizens provided their information by email to the Bangladesh Missions showing interest to return to Bangladesh by special charter flight at their own expenses. They also requested the Bangladesh Government through the Bangladesh Missions to facilitate their return to homeland by special flight.  Mentionable that the first special flight departed from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Dhaka with 247 Bangladesh citizens stranded in the U.S.A. on 15 May 2020.
