97th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation and National Children’s Day observed in Yangon

Yangon: Bangladesh Embassy, Yangon celebrated 97th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day in a befitting manner in the Embassy premises on 17th March 2017.

The program commenced with the reading out of the messages of the high dignitaries of Bangladesh including the President and Prime Minister. A short documentary was displayed capturing the life of the father of the nation, his political career and his dream of a Golden Bengal to inspire the children of the Bangladesh community.

A cultural program was organized with the participation of the children from the expatriate Bangladesh community. They children participated in singing, dancing, poetry recitation and short drama. At the end, the Ambassador Sufur Rahman and spouse of the Ambassador presented token appreciation among the children for their participations in the cultural show. Around two hundred Bangladesh community members attended the celebration and appreciated the cultural performance put out by the children.
