Bangladesh & USA should work together for closer relations

 USANEWS: ‘Bangladesh & USA should work together for closer relations’ –This was said by Congressman Phil Hare (D-Illinois) September 29 when he received  Akramul Qader, Bangladesh Ambassador to USA & State Minister at his office. The Ambassador discussed some matters of mutual interests of both the countries.  During the meeting, the Ambassador gave a run down on the polices and priorities of the present democratic Government led by Sheikh Hasina and the achievement made by Bangladesh in recent days.  Qader mentioned about the UN Award received by the Prime Minister for outstanding success in achieving the MDGs(Millennium Development Goals)specially in reducing child mortality rate and impressive gains in some areas like universal primary education and gender parity at primary and secondary levels. Congressman Phil lauded the constructive role being played by the  Prime Minister of Bangladesh on many issues of common concern between USA and Bangladesh. He stated  that  US values its friendship with Bangladesh and strongly felt that both countries should work together.

Considering vital trade interest for a developing country like Bangladesh, Bangladesh Ambassador sought his support for the NPDA(New Partnership Development Act) bill which will be tabled afresh in the Congress after the mid-term elections in USA. Congressman Phil assured his all-out support in this regard.
