Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams present, In honor of Muslim leaders Iftar Party
UsaNewsOnline : On Tuesday July 22 At Brooklyn Borough Hall , 209 Joralemon Street Brooklyn NY the 11th annual Iftar Dinner was presented by the Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams in honor of the South Asian Muslim and Arab Muslim community leaders. The program was started as per schedule 7:00 pm and hosted by the master of ceremonies Dr. Khadijah Abdul Matin, opening remarks was given by Pastor Gilford Monrose who was welcomed by the Iftar committee. The program started off with the recitation from the Holy Quran Mikaal Waters. He then gave a moment of silence remembering those who passed during hurricane Sandy and he talked about how Muslim brothers and sisters helped out during this time. The honorable Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams gave a speech in this ceremony and handed over Citation. The Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Ms. Diana Reyna also had given a speech in this special event . Attended guests are South Asian Community Leader and Vice President of Alliance of South Asian American Labor Mr. Mohammad M. Mahab, ASAAL Brooklyn Chapter President Eng. M. Ahsanul Haque, Bangladeshi Muslim center President Haji Abul Hashem, Baitul Zannah President Eng. Farooq , Arab Community Leader Ms. Debbie Al Montaser, Imam Abdul Qader, Pakastini community leader Mr. Rizvi , leaders of Youth “Eat Halal” Organization M. Saladin, Fahad malik ,Yemani American Association President Abdo Almasmary,Community Coordinator ,Erhan Yildirim ,COPO program coordinator Hasan Raza ,Arab American Association President, Dr.Ahmed jabber and many other Arab ,Bangladeshi and South Asian leaders . The Program was Co-sponsored by the Arab American Association, Arab Muslim American Federation, Arab American Bar Association, MAS Youth Center, Muslim Consulting Network , Islamic leadership Council, Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), United American Muslim Association, Masjid Al Taqwa, Muslims Giving Back (MGB), Yemeni American Association, COPO Council , Muslim Ummah (MUNA), Muslim Police Officers (MOS), Bangladesh Muslim Center, Brooklyn Youth Club, Moroccan American Council to Empower Women. In the end, after the program had finished iftar was handed to the people who had fasted and others such as Eric Adams. Everyone had enjoyed the refreshment given to them. Final speech was given by Ms. Debbie Al Montaser who gave thanks to the Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and also to everyone who participated this iftar party.
