Victory Day Celebrated at Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC

UsaNewsOnline.Com. Washington DC. 16 December : husiasm the 44th anniversary of the great Victory Day was celebrated at the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC on Wednesday with a renewed pledge to build “Golden Bangla” imbued with the spirit of the War of Liberation.
The two-day V-day celebration began with the hoisting of Bangladesh national flag and playing of the national anthem on the embassy premises in the morning. The national flag was ceremonially hoisted by Charge d’affaires of the mission Mr. Md. Shahabuddin Patwari.
The Victory Day messages of Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Hon’ble Foreign Minister and Hon’ble State Minister for Foreign Affairs were read out by the officers of the embassy at the Bangabandhu auditorium of the Embassy.
Verses from the Holy Books were recited at the function. The day’s program concluded with a special prayer seeking divine blessings for salvation of the departed souls of the nation’s valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Bangladesh from the occupation force of Pakistan in 1971.
On the concluding day on December 19, a victory day reception and cultural program will be organized on the embassy premises.
