MENG STATEMENT ON KILLING OF IMAM AND HIS ASSISTANT IN QUEENS

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, New York, 14 August : U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement on yesterday’s killing of Imam Maulama Akonjee and his assistant Thara Uddin:

“I am outraged and horrified at the killing of an imam and his assistant in Queens, and I condemn this despicable act in the strongest possible terms. I am confident that the NYPD will apprehend the coward who is responsible, and bring the person to justice. I ask all Americans to join me in sending thoughts and prayers to the families, friends and all who have been impacted by this heinous crime. We stand ready to assist the Muslim community in Queens and throughout New York with whatever assistance they may require.” Press Release.
