MENG STATEMENT ON FATAL STABBING OF NAZMA KHANAM

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk : U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement on the fatal stabbing of Nazma Khanam.

“The stabbing death of Nazma Khanam is horrifying, disgusting and all New Yorkers must condemn this heinous crime.

It is outrageous and unacceptable that another member of the Queens Muslim community has been murdered, just three weeks after an Imam and his assistant were shot to death in the borough.

I commended the NYPD for making a swift arrest in the killings of Imam Maulama Akonjee and Thara Uddin, and I’m confident that they’ll do the same in this case. The person who committed this crime must and will face justice.

I join the Bangladeshi and Muslim community in grieving for this terrible and senseless loss of life, and I stand ready to assist the family and members of the community should they require any type of assistance. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
