Dromm statement on the New York County Democratic Party judicial screening panel’s decision to not support Judge Doris Ling-Cohan’s reelection to the New York State Supreme Court
UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, New York : “I call upon the New York County Democratic Party judicial screening panel to support Judge Doris Ling-Cohan’s reelection to the New York State Supreme Court,” said NYC Council Member Daniel Dromm (D-Jackson Heights, Elmhurst), a long-time LGBT rights activist. “Judge Ling-Cohan has been a leading light in our state’s court system for nearly 15 years. Her 2005 Hernandez v. Robles decision that ruled in favor of marriage rights for same-sex couples was hailed by both legal experts and human rights advocates across the nation. I commend Judge Ling-Cohan for the visionary leadership she has exhibited on the bench. She has earned and deserves the support of the New York County Democratic Party.” Press Release.
