UsaNewsOnline.Com, New York : The 9th Annual Convention of the Alliance of South Asian American Labor – ASAAL Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm District Council 37* – 1st Floor 125 Barclay Street, New York, NY 10007 The theme for the 2016 convention is: “South Asian Labor and Community – Same Cause, One Force” The individual members registration with dinner is $20 and for Student/Retiree members $10. This year Convention seminars will be concentrated on the current issues like (1) The aftermath of the 2016 Presidential Election (2) South Asian Women, Issues they face and (3) the Challenges and significance of organizing the unorganized. We have contacted renowned experts in these fields who have agreed to be on the panel. At this convention we will be honoring great labor leaders like President Wayne Spence, New York State Public Employees Federation, AFL-CIO and President Shaun D. Francois I, Local 372, DC 37.We will also honor one of the most successful South Asian American Mr. Aziz Ahmed, Founder, President and CEO, UTC Associates, Inc., and Abubokor Hanip, Founder & CEO, People N Tech. At dinner time you will listen to the State and City wide elected officials, State Senators, Assemblypersons, Congress Members, politicians and renowned Labor Leaders from across the State. This year we are also publishing a Journal which will reach more than 3000 households and over 700 participants consisting of over 74 local unions including community leaders.
