International “YOUTH DAY” 2017 at United Nations Headquarter, New York

UsaNewsOnlione Desk, New York :- On Friday, August 11th, United Nations had celebrated International Youth Day. The event was organized in partnership with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social services along with the collaboration of International Youth Development Agency and Youth Peace & Security. The featured keynote speaker was Ms. Daniela Bas, Mr. Henk Jan Brinkman, Ms. Rashmi Thapa, Moderator Mr. Ahmed Badr, Moderator Ms. Juliana Garcia. The program started at 10am with welcoming remarks by the H.E Secretary General of United Nation Mr. Antonio Guterres and also remarks were given bt by H.E Mr. Liu Zhenmin and H.E Mr. Fodee Seck, Ambassador on Permanent Mission Of Senegal, UN Secretary General Envoy on Youth Ms. Jayathma Wickramanayake. An introduction speech was given by Ms. Daniela Bas. Many organization Youth Delegate leaders were present, CEO representative, Founder and President of SACO America Mr. Mohammad Mahab, Co-founder of Syrian Youth Assembly Ms. Haya Atassi, Associate Expert and Board Member of Finland United Nations Youth Association Ms. Emillia Hannuksela and Founder of Scholar CHIPS in the United State of America Ms.Yasmine Arrington, all had participated at this International Youth Day event. The event marked the first international mission of the new Envoy and the first International Youth Day since UN Secretary-General António Guterres took office with a commitment to placing young people at the centre of his agenda for conflict prevention and sustaining peace. Ms. Wickramanayake said, “The current generation of youth is the largest in history and it’s critical actors are in conflict prevention and sustaining peace.” The United Nation’s International Youth Day 2017 is dedicated to “Youth Building Peace.” As a global leader in democracy promotion, “The United Nations is with you and I, as your Envoy, we will do everything within our power to ensure that your voices are heard.” The program ended with closing remarks at 1:00pm.
