Lutfun Nahar Lata:
Born in the cultural city Khulna, Lutfun Nahar Lata grew up in a cultural environment. Both her parents Lailun Nahar and Sheikh Yunus Ali were fond of literature and patronized such environments. Post liberation, Bangla Literature entered into a new era which inspired her to step into the literary world.
Lata graduated with Honors in Management and later did her Masters in the same subject from the University of Rajshahi. Lata stood first among the girls and became fifth in the combined merit list in 1977’s Higher Secondary School Examination from Jessore Board. Lata worked as a news caster and a presenter at radios of different cities like Khulna, Rajshahi, Dhaka and continued her acting career throughout. From 1980 she remained the most sought after actress in Bangladesh Television (BTV). Lutfun Nahar Lata chose to live in the US with her son Shiddhartha from 1997. She added a new milestone in her versatility when she decided to work with the disadvantaged autistic children in New York’s public school system.
