99th Birthday Of Bangabandhu Observed In The Embassy Of Bangladesh Seoul

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk : The 99th Birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (98th Birth Anniversary) and National Children’s Day 2018 was observed in the Embassy of Bangladesh, Seoul with the spontaneous participation of Bangladeshi children living in the country. A large number of Bangladeshi expatriates were also present on this occasion. The Embassy arranged an essay-writing competition for the children on the Father of the Nation, cutting of cake and cultural performance.
The programme commenced with the singing of the national anthem by the children. Then verses from Holy Scriptures were read out and a special prayer was conducted for the salvation of the departed soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and also for the development of the country. The Embassy officers then read out the messages from the Hon’ble President, Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Foreign Minister. Children participating in the essay-writing competition read out their essays.

In the concluding speech, the Ambassador said that the child that was born on this day in1920 in Tungipara, Gopalganj, became the symbol of pride of the Bengali nation when he became an adult with his leadership, wisdom and sacrifices. He liberated the nation from the exploitation and deprivation of Pakistan. In the independent Bangladesh, he became the undisputed leader of the nation. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman materialized the dream of Bengalis for an independent country. She also said that Bangabandhu loved children very much and could blend with them easily. The Ambassador encouraged all the children present there to become enlightened human being like Bangabandhu.

The Ambassador then distributed prizes among the participants of the essay competition and cut the cake with the cheerful children. Then a cultural performance was conducted and performed by the children. The programme ended with a dinner with traditional Bengali food.
