Bengali New Year 1425 Celebrated In South Korea

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk : Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul celebrated Bengali New Year 1425 with the active participation of the local Korean nationals and Bangladesh community living in the republic of Korea. EPS workers, students, members of different social and political organizations and other members of the community joined in the celebration on 15 April 2018 to mark the Bengali New Year 1425.

This is the first time that the celebration took place outside the Embassy premises. The event held at Noksapyeong, was thoroughly enjoyed by the local and foreign nationals equally. The main attraction of this event was a colorful rally (Mongol Shovajatra) organized on the occasion of Bengali New Year caught the attention of all. People with colourful dress, banners and festoons and traditional musical instruments, walked down from the Embassy premises to Noksapyeong.

Along with local Koreans, foreign nationals also enjoyed the rally. The Bangladeshis living in Korea spontaneously took part with their families wearing colorful clothes.

In the cultural segment, poetry recitation, folk dance and Bangla songs were performed by the Embassy family and expatriate Bangladeshi artists. Then the guests enjoyed lunch with sumptuous traditional food items. The menu included water-soaked rice, hilsha, different kind of mashed items etc.
