LGRD & Cooperatives Minister visits Bangladesh Consulate General in New York

UsaNewsOnline.Com, New York : Mr. Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, MP, Minister, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Government of Bangladesh visited the Consulate General of Bangladesh in New York on 11 July 2018. Ms. Sadia Faizunnesa, Consul General and other Officers and Officials of the Consulate welcomed him.   

The Consul General briefed the activities of the Consulate General and expressed Consulate’s gratefulness for the continued support being received from the Government.

While interacting with the Consulate officials, he highlighted on the policy priorities of the present Government specially about the consular and welfare issues of the expatriate community. The Minister gave a patient hearing to the growing consular needs of the Bangladesh community especially within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General in New York. While commending the dedicated services of the Consulate officials, he expressed hope that Bangladesh community will benefit from numerous initiatives of the Government, led by Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, which are aimed at their overall welfare. The Minister acknowledged the hard work of the officials of the Consulate for giving services to the community and upholding the image of Bangladesh in the host country. He urged the officials to work for realization of the Vision 2021 and Vision 2041 of becoming a developing and developed country respectively.

The Minister later visited all the Sections of the Consulate and interacted with the Consulate officials. He also enquired about the well-being of the Bangladesh nationals who were present at the Consulate in big numbers. Dr. Zafar Ahmed Khan, Senior Secretary, Local Government Division, H.E. Mr. Masud Bin Momen, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UN and other senior officials were present.

It may be mentioned here that the Minister is currently in USA in connection with official programmes at the United Nantion.
