Bangladesh Consul General proposes to declare Eid Holidaysin Albany

Usanewsonline.com, New York : Ms. Sadia Faizunnesa, Consul General of Bangladesh in New York called on 27 July 2018Ms. Kathy M. Sheehan, Mayor of the City of Albany, New York at her Office (City Hall, Albany City). Mayor Sheehanwarmly welcomed and congratulated Ms. Faizunnesa for assuming the post of Consul General of Bangladesh in New York.

Consul GeneralMs. Faizunnesa thanked the Mayor for extending continuous support to the Bangladeshi-Americancommunity living in Albany, the New York State’s Capital City.

Given the growing number of American-Bangladeshi in Albany City, Consul General proposed the Mayor to declare Eidholidaysin the academic institutions on the occasion of the Muslims greatest celebrations like New York City. She has also requested for a Community Center for Bangladeshi-American. Mayor mentioned that she would positively consider Consul General’s proposal.

Mayor expressed her satisfaction for the activities of Bangladeshi-American and she expressed her desire to promote anexpatriate friendlyenvironment in her city.The Consul General assured the Mayor of all possible assistance for the welfare of the Bangladeshi-Americancommuntyand invited her to visit Bangladesh.

Ms. Chowdhury Sultana Perveen, Counsellor and Head of Chancery was present during the meeting.
