Bangladesh Consul General meets Commissioner for Mayor’s Office for International Affairs in New York City
UsaNewsOnline.Com, New York : Ms. Sadia Faizunnesa, Consul General of Bangladesh in New York called on 2 August 2018 Ms. Penny Abeywardena, Commissioner for International Affairs at her Office (2 United Nation Plaza, New York). Commissioner Penny warmly welcomed and congratulated Ms. Faizunnesa for assuming the post of Consul General of Bangladesh in New York.


Consul General Ms. Faizunnesa thanked the Commissioner for extending continuous support of Mayor’s Office to the Bangladeshi-American community living in New York City.
Given the growing number of American-Bangladeshi in New York City, Consul General sought cooperation of the New York City Mayor’s Office to enhance the social and cultural activities of American-Bangladeshi in New York. In this regard, Consul General proposed to organize a parade of ‘Mongol Shovajatra’ in New York City on the occasion of Bengali New Year. Commissioner mentioned that Bangladeshi community is playing significant role in New York City and expressed her satisfaction for the activities of Bangladeshi-American. The Consul General assured the Commissioner of all possible assistance for the welfare of the Bangladeshi-American community.
Ms. Chowdhury Sultana Perveen, Counsellor and Head of Chancery was present during the meeting.
