Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC celebrates 40th Anniversary Independence and National Day

USA NEWS: The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC March 26 celebrated the 40^th anniversary of the Independence and National Day in a befitting manner. The day’s programs began with the hoisting of National Flag ceremonially on the premises of the Embassy. Bangladesh Ambassador to USA and State Minister  Akramul Qader hoisted the national flag in presence of the Officers , Officials and members of staff of the Embassy. During the hoisting of the Flag National anthem was played. Messages from the  President, Prime Minister and  Foreign Minister were read out on the occasion. A special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls who made supreme sacrifices to achieve the country’s Independence in 1971. Peace, Prosperity and progress for the country and its people were also sought at the prayer.

On the occasion Ambassador Akramul Qader, in his speech, paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, four national leaders and martyrs of the Independence war and also recalled their contributions in achieving the Independence of Bangladesh. Ambassador Qader who is also concurrently accredited to Mexico , Brazil and Colombia called upon the expatriate Bangladesh nationals living in U S A, Mexico , Brazil and Colombia to work sincerely and unitedly in their respective fields and thereby contribute to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. He urged to work to fulfill the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to transform the country to ‘Sonar Bangla’. He also said that the present government is working relentlessly under the leadership Sheikh Hasina for the welfare of the people as well as to implement the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

As part of its celebration of National and Independence Day, Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC will host a Reception on March 28 at 6 PM at the Embassy. Dignitaries of the US, high US government officials, captains of industry,members of media, think tank and expatriate Bangladesh nationals are expected to attend the Reception.
