ASAAL puts its Boots on the ground for Max Rose running for Congress

UsaNewsOnline.Com, Staten Island, New York : On September 22, 2018 the ASAAL Staten Island Chapter organized a fund raising event at Max Rose for Congress Headquarters, 629 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310 for our endorsed candidate Democrat Max Rose. At this event we also discussed get out the vote (GOTV) strategy with Max Rose and his campaign staff.
Max Rose an US Army Veteran, decided to challenge Republican incumbent Dan Donovan, after winning the Democratic Congressional Primary on June 26, 2018. We know Staten Island is a Red Borough and for the last 40 years no Democrat won this seat. Therefore the ASAAL National Council decided to endorse soon after the Democratic Primary and engage its volunteers fully in the campaign.

 
Max Rose raised over $3.5 million, a record for any Democratic candidate in Staten Island. He appreciated ASAAL’s fund raising effort highly. He said, “I know ASAAL can take us over to the victory line. I remember in 2015, people were appreciating ASAAL after Democrat Michael McMahon won the District Attorney’s race! He appealed to ASAAL, let’s repeat that victory and win this congressional seat.”

In responding to Staten Island chapter demands, Max Rose said, “your demand of high toll on Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, I think it should be significantly reduced for all Staten Islanders. My promise is that if elected, I will be working with you to address all issues that you brought and are facing by Staten Islanders.”
At the event keynote speaker was ASAAL National President Maf Misbah Uddin who said, “ASAAL considers this year’s midterm election is the most important election in our lifetime and this congressional seat consisting of all of Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn is one of the most important Congressional seat in the nation. ASAAL is going to put its boots on the ground to bring out South Asians and we believe we can be the margin of victory winning the seat.” 
ASAAL National and Staten Island Secretary said, “we have a plan to win, we are going to take Max Rose to our Mosques, Churches, Temples, and Gurudwaras and will knock the doors, call the voters, and on Election Day bring the voters to their respective polling centers.”
Dr. Chatterjie the Staten Island Chapter President said, “we know, ASAAL can win this election! I believe if we work hard as we always do, we can win this in the next 44 days of work. Max Rose is a good candidate and we need him to safe guard the Social Security Fund which this administration is using to give tax cuts to the super rich!”
Professor Rajakaruna, Poltical Action Director of ASAAL Staten Island said, “there is no short cut, no easy way to win; we can only win through a hard campaign. I’m a proud member of ASAAL and I know through our members’ commitment we can elect Max Rose as our next congressman from Staten Island.”
Also spoke was ASAAL National Corresponding Secretary Jed Matalon whose birthday we celebrated with a cake at the end said, ” The ASAAL endorsement means you will win the election, so far we won 97% of the time when ASAAL endorsed and Max Rose is a winner.”
Everyone who was present spoke, like Staten Island Chapter Executive VIce Presidents Irshad Sheikh; Vice Presidents Mohammad Younus, Sukhdeb Singh, Mohib Ullah, Monzur Sheikh, Abul Bashar, ASAAL Youth members Faisal Sheikh and Iqbal Ahammed.
At 9:00 pm everyone was served with dinner followed by the “Happy Birthday” singing for Jed Matalon, a man well known to the ASAAL family. Participants left “Max Rose for Congress Headquarters” with the hope and promise to work harder until November 6, 2018 to win.
