“MAF MISBAH UDDIN GOT RE-ELECTED WITH 93,332 VOTES TO 16,188 AS THE TREASURER OF DC 37 FOR 6TH TERM”

New York, January 22, Tuesday night I (Maf Misbha Uddin) got re-elected as the Treasurer of District Council 37 consisting of 57 local unions with 126,000 members of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), AFL-CIO by a vote of 93,332 to 16,188. Mr. Uddin’s nearest opponent was Mitchell Feder a Housing Authority Engineer by profession from Local 375 with an MBA in Finance! The other two candidates Maria Rodriguez received 4,762 and Linda Goncalves received 1,637 respectively. By this re-election I humbly say that I have started serving my DC 37 members for the 6th 3-year term. Please keep me in your prayers!

Others who got elected are President Shaun D. Francois I with 75,295 votes compared to Eddie Rodriguez 40,724. In the Executive Director position Henry Garrido received 90,809 to Kyle Darren Simmons 25,210! The 20 Vice Presidents were also elected from Mr. Garrido’s and Mr. Uddin’s Members First Slate!

District Council 37 consists of 57 Local Unions of the City of New York with a total of 126,000 members and 60,000 retirees, the largest Municipal union in the country. Mr. Uddin was given the oath of Office and started serving his 6th term as the Treasurer of DC 37, where he will continue to help manage a $500 million benefits fund for the members!

Mr. Uddin was originally elected in 2004 to the Treasurer position with legendary labor leader Lillian Roberts who retired in 2014 after devoting 60 years of her life in the labor movement. Mr. Uddin then continued to serve DC 37 with Executive Director Henry Garrido. This will be Mr.
Mr. Garrido’s second term!
