Photo Exhibition “Evolution Of Dhaka” In Tashkent

UsanewsOnline.Com Desk, Tashkent: Embassy of Bangladesh, for the 1st time after its establishment in Tashkent in 1996 organized photo exhibition on “Evolution of Dhaka City” in Tashkent House of Photography ,Uzbekistan, from 25 to 28th of March 2019 in observance of the 48th anniversary of National Independence day of Bangladesh.
It may be noted that Dhaka city was established by emperor Jahangir, the great grandson of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, more than 400 years ago. Its other name is therefore Jahangir Nagar. Through organizing this event, the embassy is making an effort to promote the historic relations that already exist between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan. Photographs exhibited in this exhibition are showcasing the evolution of this very historic city from ancient time till today, when Dhaka has become a Megapolis and capital of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as the outcome of a 9 month long war of liberation, which took place in 1971.

Dhaka has indeed gone through many changes over last few centuries and photographs presented today are reflections of those periods.

His Excellency Ambassador Mosud Mannan ndc and chairman of Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Mr. Akmal Nuridinov jointly inaugurated the exhibition in front of art loving dignitaries of Uzbekistan and members of diplomatic corps. Press Release.
