QBP RICHARDS TO HOLD POST-STATE OF THE BOROUGH VIRTUAL MEDIA ROUNDTABLE Monday
USANEWSONLINE.COM DESK, QUEENS, NY – Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. will hold a virtual roundtable with members of the media on Monday, March 8 at 1:30PM, five days after putting forth his comprehensive vision for a stronger, more equitable Queens in his first State of the Borough address.
The virtual roundtable will be held via Zoom. Members of the media interested in attending the roundtable are asked to RSVP via email at [email protected] or phone at 718-286-2640 by Monday, March 8 at 12:00PM. They are also asked to register for the Zoom roundtable by filling out the form found here.
The roundtable comes a few days after Borough President Richards’ State of the Borough address, which not only outlined his administration’s accomplishments within its first 100 days but outlined Queens’ path out of the pandemic and toward a borough freed of systemic inequities.
Among numerous other initiatives, Borough President Richards pledged to establish an Immigrant Welcome Center at Queens Borough Hall, create at least 2,000 units of truly affordable housing, invest in upgrades across Queens’ New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) housing developments, overhaul the community board appointment process, establish workforce training programs and other job creating initiatives, and ensure sustainability is at the heart of all new land use projects subject to his review and more.
