UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, New York : “Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd, slowly strangling him for 9 minutes and 29 seconds. In Mr. Floyd’s memory, we must recommit ourselves to ending the deeply embedded racism in our criminal justice system and the lack of humanity shown to people of color by law enforcement. 

“I remain steadfast in my efforts to end the epidemic of police brutality and demands for a safe, equitable city. I passed the Andrew Kearse Act to hold law enforcement accountable for the care of New Yorkers in their custody but there is more work to be done. We must fight alongside other bold, progressive leaders like Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley to enact policies like Andrew Kearse and the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act nationally.
