SIGNATURES DECLARED VALID – JMC 2022-2023 SLATE DISMISSED!

Juhaib Choudhury, New York : On November 14, 2021, A Special General Meeting was held to either Approve or Disapprove the 2022-2023 Jamaica Muslim Center-JMC Slate of Board of Trustees and Executive Members.  In the meeting 200+ Signatures were presented to oppose the slate.  The Nomination Committee Chairman stated that within one week he will inform us know if the signatures presented are valid or invalid.  Today is the 2^nd week – 14 days in equivalency. Calls were made to the Board of Trustees Chairman, the EC President and General Secretary for results of the investigation.  All three office bearers informed us that the Nomination Committee Chairman failed to inform them of any results.  Also, our calls to the Nomination Committee Chairman went unanswered.    Consequently, absent invalidation of the 200+ signatures within a timely manner (or seeking a time extension), we the members declare that the signatures opposing the JMC 2022-2023 as VALID.  Hence, the JMC 2022-2023 Board of Trustees and Executive Members have been dismissed!  We are also proposing to form a competent Nomination Committee. If our demands are NOT met we will seek the dismissal of the entire EC and BOT, which has illegally overstayed the 2 year term set forth in the constitution.  If this measure is sought, the EC and BOT will have to create an interim committee to perform the duties, as 11+ months of stay is illegal!  The interim committee in turn will form the nomination committee.  Before we get more entangled, please do the right thing!
