Queens West Kiwanis Division Welcomes the Kiwanis Club of Sharing Hearts/Queens West, the First-Ever Kiwanis Club for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities that is not an Aktion Club

Usanewsonline.com Desk: On Friday, April 1, the Queens West Kiwanis Division welcomes their newest Club to the Kiwanis family: the Kiwanis Club of Sharing Hearts/Queens West the first-ever Club for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The historic ceremony will take place at a luncheon from 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m. in the Big Apple Meeting Space inside the Hyatt Regency, 110-00 Rockaway Blvd., Queens, NY, 11417. 

“This Club is very excited to bring their community service work to Kiwanis,” says Carol Verdi, Lt. Governor of the Queens West Division and Executive Vice President of Education Services at HeartShare Human Services of New York. “They will have all the roles and responsibilities of any other Club. This is a proud moment for them and for Kiwanis.”

Verdi extends special thanks to Senator Joseph Addabbo and Resort World for arranging the Charter Day for the new Club. Expected to attend are NY District Governor Jim Mancuso, who will offer his congratulations and encouragement to the new Club.
