UsaNewsOnline.Com, New York: On Sunday, August 8, 2021 we proudly endorsed Hon. Eric Leroy Adams for the Mayor of the City of New York! The event took place at the World Fair Marina in Queens at luncheon where ASAAL was a co-sponsor of a Mr. Adams fund raising event.

The event was sponsored by Indian Muslim Community in New York City lead by ASAAL Treasurer and Life Member Ahmed Shakir and jointly co-sponsored by ASAAL Founder and National President Maf Misbah Uddin. Many life members provided the ASAAL portion of funding and joined the event.

You may know once Mr. Adams has been beaten by Cops as a young man, later he joined the police department as an officer ultimately became a Captain and retire only to became a Senator at York State where he served with distinction. Then in 2013 he became the Borough President of Brooklyn now on June 22, 2021 became the Democratic Nominee for the Mayor of the City of New York.

ASAAL with 6 Chapters in 5 Boroughs of New York City all candidate despite of position running recognizes our endorsement, comes with our commitment to door knocking, phone banking, and GOTV - Get Out To Vote - Eric in!

In his speech President Uddin mentioned our endorsement means winning in November but as a mayor we expect his work to reflect our community. We are a new community our problems are many and solutions are few but it must come from the Mayor. We have now Halal food in 12 Schools we need under this Mayor all 1,200 Schools in all five Boroughs of the New York City. We are asking your help in helping South Asian Community to have dignity and pride in living here in the City.
