AZM Sajjad Hossain, Washington DC : The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC arranged a Doa and Special Prayer at the Islamic Centre of Washington DC after Juma prayers August 12 on the occasion of the National Mourning Day and the 47th Martyrdom Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On the occasion, a Special Munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his other family members martyred on the fateful night of August 15 in 1975. A large number of devotees took part in the Doa and Munajat.
Adviser to the Prime Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury joined the Doa and Munajat.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States M Shahidul Islam and officials and employees of the Embassy also participated in the Doa and Munajat.
Later, foods were served on behalf of the Embassy among the devotees.
