UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk : A four-day long first ever Bangladesh Food Festival was inaugurated on 09 November 2018 at a prestigious restaurant (Healin Foods) in Istanbul from 09 to 12 November 2018 organised by the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Istanbul. The inaugural ceremony was attended by a significant number of Turkish dignitaries that include Members of Parliament, Deputy Governor of Istanbul, high government officials, political and business elites, academicians and intelligentsia as well as Istanbul based diplomats and media personalities.

Bangladesh Consul General in Istanbul Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam, in his welcome remarks, briefed the gastronomic heritage of Bangladesh and expressed optimism that the event would not only introduce and promote Bangladesh culinary delicacies to Turkish audience but would also contribute towards strengthening existing cultural ties between the peoples of Bangladesh and Turkey by enhancing their mutual understanding and connectivity.

In his remarks, Bangladesh Ambassador to Turkey M. Allama Siddiki spoke on the vitality and energies injected into Bangladesh – Turkey bilateral relations in the recent time, while underscoring the need for further consolidating cultural bonds between these two brotherly nations in making their relationship more effective and sustainable. Deputy Governor of Istanbul Ismail Gultekin also made brief remarks highlighting the deep rooted historical, political and cultural linkages shared by Bangladesh and Turkey.
