Meng brings New York South Asian Americans to Philadelphia as Election Day approaches
UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, Philadelphia : U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY) sponsored a day-long bus trip for New Yorkers – including many South Asian Americans from Queens – to take part in “A Day of Action in Philadelphia with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party to Elect Hillary for President and Democrats up and down the ballot.”
The trip took place this past weekend. The bus left Flushing, Queens at 9 a.m. on Saturday and returned late Saturday night.
The group, which consisted of 36 people, went door-to-door talking to Philadelphia voters and handing out informational leaflets in an effort to get out the vote.
“I thank all who traveled to Philadelphia on Saturday,” said Meng. “The stakes are extremely high in this election and Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party are committed to tackling such vital issues as immigration reform, jobs, economic growth, education, assistance to small businesses and many other critical measures. That is why we must elect more Democrats in November and make Hillary Clinton the next President of the United States.”
The bus traveled to Philadelphia since Pennsylvania is considered a swing state in the election.
The trip also included several Chinese and Korean Americans as well as non-Asian New Yorkers.
