Travelling is a sense of adventure that excites people, and also is a big chance for us to learn about other cultures and the way people live their lives. As someone who loves to explore and enjoy new things, few months ago in the spring, my family decided to travel to Singapore and Malaysia. It was a fantastic trip and an amazing experience that I must share the thrill and joy.
On 14th September 2018 at 1.30 am I along my family wasboarded at Hazarat Shahjalal International Airport to Singapore. In the dawn at 7.30 we arrived at Changi International Airport, Singapore. This is the major civilian airport of Singapore, and one of the largest transportation hubs in Southeast Asia. From the airport we headed straight to my relative’s house and had breakfast there. Having lunch there we started for our hotel at 13.00
Dropping baggage in hotel located at 83, Syed Alwi Road, Singapore we went Marina Bay which is busy growing its arts scene in Singapore. Some of the hotels in the Marina Bay area also have art collections of their own. This area is full of top-flight shopping centers and malls. Marina Bay preserves Asia’s past and present through two establishments in particular: the Art Science Museum and the Asian Civilizations Museum. We saw spectacular light show over there at 20.30 for half an hour.Having dinner at Bangladeshi restaurant namely Hirajheel nearto Mostafa Center we returned to the hotel at 22.15.
Next morning at 8.00 having breakfast my family members took MRT (Metro rail) towards Sentosa Island through famous Vivocity mall and Harbor point. Sentosa Island, Singapore is famous for its amazing manmade developments that have quickly turned what was just a small jungle island into a sprawling metropolis in just a matter of decades. This manmade island, accessible via a small bridge from the main Singapore island is jam-packed full of entertaining things to do, many of which are geared towards families with young kids. All attractions are easy to get to with the free bus service that runs round the island as well as a free monorail service too. In Sentosa, Universal Studio is a wonderful complex of themed rides, live shows and Hollywood movie-sets pulls in millions every year. Although of course appealing more to the kids. Seven sections including Hollywood, New York, Ancient Egypt and Madagascar takes us through both a cinematic and geographical journey. We have our lunch there with delicious Malay food. We enjoyed fantastic laser show, titled “Wings of Time” on the shore of Sentosa at 19.15. On 17th September, at 8.30 am we left Singapore for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by road. Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. We arrived at Berjaya Times Square at 12.15. Berjaya Times Square is a 48 storied twin tower hotel, condominium, indoor amusement park and shopping centre complex in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. It was opened in October 2003 by the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Sri Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad. Our suit located on the 33rd floor and it was a studio apartment. Later in the afternoon we visited Petronas Twin Towers and KL Tower which are the icons of Malaysia.
Having breakfast on next day at 9.00 we took cab for visitingBatu Caves, Strawberry Garden, Genting Highlands & Putra Jaya. Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu, which flows from the hill. Batu Caves is also the name of a nearby village. Genting Highlands is a high-altitude hill resort in Malaysia, situated in the northeast of Kuala Lumpur. We hadvery exiting Cable Car ride here. Putrajaya is Malaysia's third and latest Federal Territory, named after the first Malaysian Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. It is a planned cityand the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. The seat of government was shifted in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya. The Putra Mosque, made from rose-colored granite with a pink dome, the prime minister’s office complex and the 3-tiered Putra Bridge along with man-made Putrajaya Lake are attractive tourist sports.
We spent a great day on 18th September at the Aquaria KLCC in Kuala Lumpur. The Aquaria KLCC is an oceanarium located beneath Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Aquaria KLCC is the largest aquarium in South East Asia. It provides information and education about type of animals in the sea.
On 19th September at 9.00 we left Kuala Lumpur and arrived at Langkawi Island airport, Malaysia at 10.15. The island has its own airport and even international airlines embark here. Langkawi is a district and islands in the Andaman Sea, 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. On 1 June 2007, Langkawi Island was given a World Geopark status by UNESCO. In 4 day long visit we have been at Bella Vista Waterfront hotel. In the next couple of days we visited Eagle Square, Chenang Beach and experiencedextraordinary Cable Car ride. The Langkawi Cable Car, also known as Langkawi SkyCab, is one of the major attractions in LangkawiIsland, Malaysia. The ride affords a view of the surrounding forest, the Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells) waterfall, as well as the sea. The Langkawi Cable has 3 stations. The Base Station is located in the Oriental Village at about sea level. The journey to Middle station at about 650m above sea leavel is 1700m in length and takes about 15min. From the Top Station on Gunung (Mount) Machincang weenjoyed amazing views of the island(s) from two viewing platforms. The Top Station also gives access to the Sky Bridge.
We left Langkawi for Dhaka at 12.00 noon on 24th September andarrived Dhaka at 21.15.
My eyes were stuck at the beauty of Singapore and Malaysia. Still I wondered how a country can be so calm and peaceful inspite of being so busy. The systematic arrangement of Singapore and Malaysia is truly praiseworthy. Though the journey ended but its memories are still fresh in my mind.
