Pompeo to strengthen US-Bangladesh relations
DHAKA, Feb 14, 2019 (BSS) – The US Secretary of State Michael R Pompeo has expressed his hope to strengthen and stronger US-Bangladesh relations and cooperation in the coming days.
He made the remark in a letter to congratulate his Bangladeshi counterpart
Dr AK Abdul Momen on his appointment as the new Bangladesh foreign minister, a press release said here today.
The Secretary of State also appreciated the generosity of the Bangladesh
government and people for continuing to host and shelter over one million
Rohingyas.
Pompeo also shared Bangladesh’s commitment to the eventual return of the
Rohingyas to their homeland.
The secretary of state also praised the impressive diplomatic and academic
background, skills and experience of the Foreign Minister.
