QBP RICHARDS ON SCHEDULED WEDNESDAY OPENING OF CITI FIELD AS COVID-19 VACCINATION SITE

USANEWSONLINE.COM DESK, QUEENS, NY – Queens Borough President Donovan Richards stated the following in response to yesterday’s announcement by Mayor de Blasio that Citi Field will open as a mass COVID-19 vaccination site on Wednesday, February 10 for Queens residents and other eligible populations.

“No borough was harder hit by the COVID-19 pandemic than Queens, which has lost more than 7,000 loved ones, friends and neighbors to this insidious disease. The critical need for this mass vaccination site to prevent further loss could not be clearer. Queens is eternally grateful to the New York Mets for hitting this home run for their home borough, and we thank Mayor de Blasio for stepping up to the plate,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “This is a tremendous first step toward establishing vaccine equity.
