Statement from Legislator Drucker on Availability of Low-Interest Disaster Relief Loans from Federal Small Business Administration

USANewsOnline.Com Desk, MINEOLA, N.Y. – Earlier this week, New York State announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will offer federal assistance to New Yorkers in Kings (Brooklyn) and Nassau counties, which were impacted by heavy rains and flooding in September.

Residents and businesses in these locations are eligible to apply for low-interest loans to aid in their recovery following historic rainfall and flooding. This comes after the Governor urged President Biden to issue a Major Disaster Declaration related to the storm, which remains under consideration.
Following this announcement, Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) issued the following statement:
“This September, many residents and businesses grappled with extensive damage after historic rainstorms inundated our region on an unprecedented scale,” Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) said. “I applaud New York State for their ongoing advocacy for resources that will bring relief to the 16th district and across Nassau County, and these low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration are an important first step. It is now imperative for the federal government to swiftly heed New York’s plea for a major disaster declaration, which will clear the way for the delivery of robust, comprehensive relief.” Press Release
