The Staten Island Chapter ASAAL has their Inauguration
UsaNewsOnline.Com, New York : The Staten Island Chapter ASAAL has their inauguration on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 22 Wave Street Hall, Staten Island, NY 10304. At this event Staten Island Borough Assemblyman Michael Cusick delivered the keynote speech while taking questions from the audience!
The Oath of the Office for the Officers was conducted by the National President Maf Misbah Uddin in the presence of 100s of ASAAL members, friends, and families including Officers from the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and National Corresponding Secretary Jed Matalon, Women’s Committee Chair Sahana Begum, and Legislative Director Mazeda Uddin.
The following were elected to the Executive Board for the term 2017-2018:

At this auspicious event Public Employee Federation (PEF) President Wayne Spence in his speech said that what my friend Maf Uddin Started long ago it now became a movement, we are all ASAAL and I
only say you come out and vote. He then requested everyone to vote NO on Constitutional Convention this November 7 General election!
Also spoke Local 1182 President Syed Rahim who is also the ASAAL National Executive Director said, “me and my Local will always be with ASAAL, we know, your work can make a difference in our community.
Our National President Maf Uddin Said, “Staten Island Chapter always impressed us, we are very humble by their work, participation and achievement”. “You all are coming here today is the testament of the benefits of working together, if we are one brown people we can win, in everything we undertake”, he added.
Chapter President Dr. Chatterjie presented future plans while Secretary Karim Chowdhury announced Legislative Agenda ASAAL is currently pursuing in Albany. Among the legislative agenda the two most important for our community are, Taxi Workers Safety Act” and Religious Garb Bill. If passes it will help
thousands of Taxi Drivers most of whom are south Asian! The event was closed around 9:45 pm with a dinner. Everyone have had good time!
