Akbar Haider Kiron joins Weekly Bidesh Bangla as Editor

New York: Akbar Haider Kiron, an eminent journalist, TV and radio host has assumed his responsibility as the Editor of The Weekly Bidesh Bangla in New York. Reputed Bangladeshi-American businessman Pradeep Shaha is the publisher. The weekly is available every Friday and available in the web at weeklybideshbangla.com.

Akbar Haider Kiron started his 27 years journalism career as a Senior Sub-Editor of now-defunct Daily News from Dhaka. He worked as the Diplomatic Correspondent of a very prestigious The Weekly Bichitra for several years. Kiron worked as a BBC Stringer in Dhaka between 1987 and 1993 for Bengali and English Services. He also worked as the Bureau Chief of Voice of Bangladesh (VOB) Los Angeles in the 80’s.Akbar Haider Kiron is also the Editor of internet based international news magazine ‘probashivoice.com’, which is published by Gias Ahmed from New York City. He worked as the Director of News and as an anchor for Bangla TV New York for more than a decade. Also, he worked as an anchor of ‘Today’s Headlines’ and interviewer of now-defunct satellite TV from New York STV US. Kiron is the US correspondent of The Weekly 2000 and Anandadhara, both are published from Dhaka. He was a former Bangladesh Correspondent of New York’s Weekly Thikana and Bangalee.
