Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh Masud Bin Momen Presented Credentials to the President of El Salvador Professor Salvador Sanchez Ceren

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, New York : Mr. Masud Bin Momen, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York and the Ambassador of Bangladesh to El Salvador with residence in New York presented today (22 August) his credentials to the President of El Salvador, H.E. Professor Salvador Sanchez Ceren at the Presidential Palace in San Salvador. H.E. Mr. Hugo Martinez, Foreign Minister of El Salvador was also present on the occasion. Prior to presentation of his credentials, Ambassador Masud attended the ceremonial ‘Guard of Honor’. Ambassador Masud greeted thePresident of El Salvador for the acceptance of his credentials. He conveyed the best wishes of the Hon’ble President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh to the President of El Salvador. He stated that Bangladesh is keen in promoting friendly relations with El Salvador based on shared values of democracy, development and social justice. He stressed in this regard that the geographic barrier should never stand in the way of growing friendship and promoting trade relations between the two countries. Ambassador Masud applauded El Salvador’s achievements in social and economic sectors under his leadership. Ambassador Masud briefed the President about the recent economic progress of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Ambassador extended an invitation to the President to visit Bangladesh at a time convenient to him. The Ambassadors of 18 countries presented their credentials to the President Mr. Professor Salvador Sanchez Ceren of El Salvador on the same day which included non-resident Ambassadors from Russia, India, Portugal, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Ambassador Masud happens to be the first Bangladesh Non-Resident Ambassador concurrently accredited to EL Salvador. After the credential ceremony, an MoU has been signed between Bangladesh and El Salvador to hold regular Foreign Office Consultations. It may be mentioned here that Bangladesh had officially established diplomatic relationship with El Salvador last November. Press Release
