Bangladesh Embassy Copenhagen Celebrated Bangabandhu’s 98th Birth Anniversary With Zeal And Fervor

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, Copenhagen:Bangladesh Embassy in Copenhagen celebrated the National Children`s Day and the 98th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with great enthusiasm and fervour. With the participation of more than one hundred members of expatriate community and their children, the Embassy turned out to be a festive venue celebrating the birthday of the architect of independent Bangladesh.

The day-long programme started with a painting competition on Bangabandhu in the morning, which was zealously participated by children of three age groups. This was followed by offering dua and munajat, placing of flower wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation, cutting of birthday cake, reading out of the messages released on this occasion by the Hon`ble President, the Hon`ble Prime Minister and the Hon`ble Foreign Minister and finally the prize giving ceremony for painting competition. Ambassador Muhith mentioned about the happy news of Bangladesh’s graduation from LDC status which coincided with the birthday anniversary of the Father of the Nation. A documentary on the life and work of the Father of the Nation namely “Bangabandhu: Our great leader’’ was also screened.

Bangladesh Ambassador Muhammad Abdul Muhith while delivering his speech, highlighted on the struggle and sacrifices spanning his whole life made by Bangabandhu in translating Bangalees’ dream of nationhood into a reality. He emphasized on the fact that Bangabandhu and the history of Bangladesh are synonymous to each other and the new generation must learn the true history and practice the ideology of Bangabandhu which is like a beacon for our journey towards a secular, democratic and prosperous Bangladesh. He deeply appreciated the participation of so many children in the programme who will lead the nation in its quest to realizing the dream of Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla. Ambassador Muhith mentioned about the happy news of Bangladesh’s graduation from LDC status which coincided with the birthday anniversary of the Father of the Nation. Quoting the Hon’ble Prime Minister, he said that ‘having the good news on the birthday of Bangabandhu is a great achievement for the country and its people.’
The programme was rounded off by serving children friendly Bangladeshi cuisines by the Embassy which was relished by the guests.
