Bangladesh Embassy In Seoul Observes Mujibnagar Day

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk : The Bangladesh embassy in Seoul observed the historic Mujibnagar Day on 17 April 2018 with due fervor. Expatriate Bangladeshis, including leaders of different socio-cultural organizations, attended the programme. The event started with the singing of national anthem. Then verses from the Holy Quran, Gita, Tripitak and Bible were read out. A special prayer was conducted for the solace of the martyrs of the Liberation War and the overall development of the country.

The Embassy officers then read out the messages from Honorable President and Honorable Prime Minister, Honorable Minister for Liberation War Affairs and Chairman of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs. A documentary on the formation and the significance of the Mujibnagar Government was also shown.

At the discussion session, the guests highlighted on the significance of Mujibnagar Day. In the concluding speech, the Ambassador recalled Father of the Nation Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Four National Leaders, three million martyrs of the liberation war and two lakh women violated during the War.

She said that the first-ever government of Bangladesh took oath at Baidyanathtola of Meherpur Subdivision on the 17th April 1971 and it played a pivotal role in creating world public opinion, managing the refugees and determining the tactics of the war. She further said that we should put concerted effort to succeed as nation as we did during our Liberation War. She then urged to the current generation to take greater responsibility to realize the Golden Bengal dreamt by the Father of the Nation. By achieving this goal, we will be able to repay the debt of the martyrs, she added. She also recalled the immense contribution of the Bangladeshi diplomats during the War. Finally the guests were served with a dinner with traditional food items.
