Eid-E-Miladunnabi Celebrated by jews, muslims, hindus and christians,For the first time in New York

 Ashraful Hassan Bulbul: For the first time Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday has been celebrated here in New York by the jews, muslims, hindus and christians together. Jackson Heights Muhammadi Masjid and its supporters came together on the 5^th February 2011 and celebrated Eid-E-Miladunnabi, the 1441^st Birthday of the Prophet (PBUH). New York Supreme Court Justice  Thomas Raffaele being the Chief Guest, the Miladunnabi was attended by New York State Senator Joseph Peralta, New York City Assemblyman Francisco Maya, New York City Councilman Danniel Drom, New York Police Detective Officer Turo, NYPD Officer Nicholas and many more.Speakers on prophet Muhammad (PBUH) included Sri Ram Chandra Goudel, Professor Muhammad Fazlul Kader, Community Leader Kazi Monirul Hoque, Jamea Hanfia Muslim Center President  Ershad Elahi Chowdhury et el.

The Chief Guest Justice Thomas Raffaele said that it is the first interfaith celebration of this kind ever in USA. There would be better bigger celebrations next years and it will continue every year. Justice Thomas added that Prophet Muhammad has always preached for peace and yet our muslim brothers-sisters become victims of negative publicity. We would send messages to our next generations and to the world that we live, work together peacefully and they should do the same for a peaceful world.

New York State Senator Joseph Peralta said, “We are proud of our muslim brothers and sisters here in New York. Prophet Muhammad has always preached for brotherhood, peace and his followers cannot do anything harmful to their neighbors. We would always be with our muslim brothers.”

Assemblyman Francisco Maya said that he felt honored since he could be in the first interfaith Eid-E-Miladunnabi celebration in USA. He said history is made and it is the New Yorkers who take the leadership in all good steps. Assemblyman Maya thanked the organizers for initiating such interfaith celebration on the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Councilman Danniel Drom said that he would be always with his muslim brothers. Drom said the muslims of Jackson Heights work with their Jewish, Hindu, Greek, Catholic, Spanish friends together. They are very friendly and respectful. They keep good family and bring their good children to this country. Councilman Drom added that it is only here in  Jackson Heights that we see jews and palestinians go to their synagogues and mosques just across the street. Greeks, Punjabis, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Christians … people of different faiths live their life harmoniously. They are good friends of each other and there is no hatred among them at all.  Drom promised to build some historic monuments for the International Mother Language Day, for the sacrifice of the Bangladeshi brothers for their language as well.

The Interfaith Eid-E-Miladunnabi was held at the meeting hall of Gourment Restauran, Jackson Heights, New York. On behalf of the organizers Ashraful Hassan Bulbul conducted the discussions and interfaith parade (Photographs included).

Imaam Qazi Quayoom made the welcome speech on behalf of the Muhammadi Masjid. Two great Naathka  Jamal Ashrafi Qadri (India) and Fakir Muhammad Dudha (Gujraat, India) performed Naath-E-Rasul.
