Eight- Nation Ambassadors’ Cup Cricket Tournament in Washington DC

The Embassies of eight Cricket Test-playing nations namely Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies (Trinidad  & Tobago) have taken up the initiative to organize a one day long “Ambassadors’ Cup Cricket Tournament” in Washington, DC. The Ambassadors of each participating country will represent his / her team as the ceremonial captain. Each Embassy will form its own team drawing players from its Embassy staff and expatriate community members.

In this connection, Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA, Akramul Qader said that cricket being one of the most popular games in the world has the power to bring together people from all across the globe. The tournament, he hoped, will play an important role in popularizing cricket among the young generation of expatriate communities of cricket-playing nations in the USA, as well as, promoting people to people level contacts among the Diaspora groups.

The tournament will be  held at South Germantown Recreational Park, 18041 Central circle, Boyds Maryland 20841 on September  07, 2013 (Saturday) from 09:00 am to 05:00pm.
