Independence And National Dav Celebrated In Yangon

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, Yangon, Myanmar : The Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon celebrated the 47th Anniversary of Independence
and National Day with due solemnity and fervor on 26th March 2018.The Morning segment of the celebration began with hoisting the National flag with rendition of national anthem simultaneous with the ceremony on the Independence and National Day on 26th March 2018 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister at the Chancery.

Following rendition of national anthem and flag hoisting, the discussants highlighted the significance of the Independence Day and struggle for liberation. The discussants recalled the supreme scarifies made by our freedom fighters. They paid respect to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his visionary leadership and steadfastness against all odds, which inspired the people of Bangladesh in clinching the Victory. The Ambassador Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury underscored the need for consolidation of national progress based on the spirit of liberation war.

The Ambassador hosted a grand reception in the evening a$ the Sedona hotel, Yangon. Union Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement H.E. Dr. Win Myat Aye attended the reception as the Guest of Honour along with other high dignitaries of the host government. The Chief Minister of Yangon region, a number of elected MPs from major political parties participated in the reception. Diplomatic missions and international organizations and UN organization attended the reception in large numbers including many Heads of Mission.

A sizeable number of Bangladeshi expat community joined the reception. During the programme a documentary showcasing heritage and tourism and investment prospect of Bangladesh was on display.
