LAFAZAN RAISES MORE THAN $1,000,000 FOR CONGRESSIONAL RACE

Usanewsonline.com Desk: As Lafazan raises $570,000 in three month period, combined with over $450,000 raised in 18 days during 2021, he announces over 100 interns in highly-lauded Internship Program
Lafazan for Congress today announced that they will file their quarterly report showing they have raised $570,000. Previously, the campaign reported that Lafazan raised more than $450,000 in just 18 days after announcing his bid for Congress late last year. When the first quarter filing is due on April 15, it will show that Lafazan has raised over $1 million total and has nearly that much cash on hand.
“It is motivating for Josh and our entire team to know the breadth and depth of support for Josh and this movement,” said Chase Serota, Campaign Manager for Lafazan for Congress. “Every day we hear from taxpayers from Long Island to Westchester that they want a common sense Democrat like Josh, who is a fighter, a doer, and a leader with a proven record of delivering results for his constituents who will work with anyone and everyone as long as they are tackling the big problems that New Yorkers face.”
The campaign also announced today that there are more than 100 interns and counting from across the district who are working and learning on the Lafazan campaign. The program is expected to continue to grow as the June 28th primary approaches. Lafazan is known for his robust and innovative internship programs, which have been described as “intern programs for the next generation of politicians.” Lafazan’s internship programs have received both local and national news coverage for their ability to inspire young people.
“I am endlessly inspired by the large number of young people volunteering on our campaign,” said Lafazan. “It has always been important to me to provide opportunities for young people to get engaged in both government and our electoral system.”
Aidan Davis, a Lafazan intern in 2019, 2021 and who is currently interning on Lafazan’s congressional campaign, stated that, “being part of Josh’s campaigns has given me a lot of insight into what it takes to run for public office.”
A first time Lafazan intern, Sahil Patel, is following in his older brother Rohan’s footsteps, who worked as a Lafazan intern the past two years and recommended the opportunity to his younger brother.
A second time intern for Lafazan, Dahlia Solomon, says that “the experience and excitement of working on a campaign and talking about the big issues of the day is motivating.”
Another intern, Neil Fernandes, first interned for Josh in 2017 at 12 years old. When asked about his experience, Neil stated that “interning for Josh has shown me how to be a part of a team and also how I can be a leader.”
“I was the youngest person elected to my School Board, I was the youngest person elected to the Nassau County Legislature, and if I were in Congress today I would be the youngest Democrat in the country currently serving in Washington,” stated Lafazan. “I want to demonstrate to young people that they have as much of a place in our government as anyone else.”
