Meng Re-Elected Vice Chair of Democratic National Committee
USANEWSONLINE.CON DESK, ATLANTA, GA, FEBRUARY 25 – After a spirited campaign, Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY) was this evening re-elected Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Meng, who represents the New York City borough of Queens, won re-election during the DNC’s winter meeting at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Votes were cast by members of the DNC. “I am extremely honored and humbled to have once again been selected as Vice Chair and I thank DNC members for their support,” said Meng. “As we all know, these are challenging times for our party. There is much work that needs to be done. But I am ready to help lead Democrats forward, and put our party on the path to victory. We must reach out to emerging and immigrant communities, millennials, the grassroots and help build-up our state and local parties. I am excited to get down to work. I also congratulate Chairman Perez and Deputy Chair Ellison.” Meng is presently serving her third term in Congress. She is the first Asian American Member of Congress from the State of New York, and the only Congressmember of Asian descent in the Northeast.
