New York’s 32nd Annual Muslim Day Parade
UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, New York : On Sunday, September 24 , 2017 Muslims parade held in Manhattan , The rally was partly organized by the Muslim and south Asian Organization protest group and also with the collaboration of SACO America, COPO, Arab Association, African Muslim org, Indonesian peace for justice Org , united Arab American accreditation MUNA and many other Head of organizations. The program was Basically organized by the Muslim community in New York, many Arab, African Pakistani, Bangladeshi, American, leaders, members of Muslim organization participated at this program Thousands of people took to the Manhattan medicine avenue from 23rd streets to 39th street in New York city on Sunday to denounce Myanmar’s treatment of its Rohingyan Muslim ethnic minority.
Political and Islamic groups, along with other civil society organizations, joined protests in New York City during Annual Muslim Parade Day on Sundayto urge Myanmar to “stop committing genocide” and take back those who have sought refuge elsewhere. Over a thousand Muslim/cristian ,Jewish and non Muslims devotees belonging to the organization joined a rally in the capital’s New York city Manhattan Mid town area after Zohar noon prayer. Many protester cries as he listens to a preacher describing the plight of the Rohingyan during a rally in Manhattan, This Muslim parade peace , justice and solidarity here in New York City and Muslims , non Muslims all they gathered all across the country in Manhattan at ,medicine avenue , The program started as per schedule right after Zohar pray the program ended at 5:00 pm ,manhattan Borough president was the Cheif guest at this program . many city officials and representative of social organization delivered their speech and supported rouging an issue ,Representative from many International news agency including local electronic media, Television channels MTV, Time TV, NTV, TV Asia, Chanal 7, Chanal 1, BBC, Al Jazziera ,news papers editors and journalists covered entire scenario & captured picture ,news and other activities during the remarkable and successful program the heart of the New York City Muslims chanted slogan and voiced concerning rohingun Muslims issue protested Myanmar governments .Muslims, non Muslims criticized recent crucial action towards rigingyan. Muslims , The President & founder of SACO America Mohammad mahab delivered his Speech to the crowed audience and stated in mayanmar Human right is violated , Muslims are being targeted mohammad mahab urged international Muslim community to help Rohingyan muslim for their right and solidarity , emphasized for work and efforts and will continue fight for the rohingyan issue and requested for move on.
However, this year’s march had a much more cohesive and solemn message than previous years, serving in part to raise awareness in the alleged genocide of Burma’s Rohingya Muslim population. The Rohingya have been referred to by the United Nations as one of the world’s most persecuted group Members of all represented nationalities, neighborhoods, and organizations stood together in solidarity for the Rohingya Muslims, holding signs that read “Stop Genocide” and depicted harrowing images of the recent violence against the Rohingya in Burma. In addition to traditional Islamic chants, marchers loudly yelled “Stop killing Rohingya Muslims!” as they walked through the city.The parade ran about twelve blocks, and ended near Madison Square Park where the Muslim Day Festival took place. The president of the Muslim Foundation of America, Imam Shamsi Ali, spoke to the crowd, urging them to unite against hate and speak out for all Muslim communities facing adversity and harassment, especially the Rohingya.The area’s local congresswoman, Carolyn Maloney was also present, and reminded the crowd to stay positive and unified in the face of prejudice. This year also marked the first year that the event was lead by a Jewish Rabbi. Rabbi Marc Schneier greeted parade goers and told his own stories of overcoming cultural divides in the name of community during interviewing With The international Tv channel Al jazirah Mohammad Mahab stated “The Rohingya people, including women and children, are being killed … women are being raped.”
He added that “everyone should stand beside the Rohingya people.”
Mohammad Mahab demanded the immediate deployment of UN peacekeepers in Rakhine state and the implementation of the recommendations made by a commission led by former UN head Kofi, the program was successfully completed .
