Ambassador Akramul Qader meets with Congressman Peter King

USA NEWS :  Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA and State Minister Akramul Qader today met with Congressman Peter T King (R-NY) and sought the US lawmaker’s support for a duty free and quota free access of Bangladesh’s readymade garments in the USA and deportation of Rashed Chowdhury, one of the self-confessed killers of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, now living in the USA.

Ambassador Qader informed the Congressman of the harsh impacts theUStariffs onBangladesh’s garments products and solicited Peter T King’s support in passing a bill at the US Congress for a waiver. Congressman King, a co-chair ofBangladeshcaucus in the US Congress, assured ambassador Qader of his support in this respect.

Regarding Rashed Chowdhury’s deportation, Ambassador Qader informed that Bangladesh’s highest court has found Rashed guilty of killing the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and he might have suppressed facts in processing his immigration papers. As per theUSlaws he is removable from theUS. Rep. King who also chairs the House Homeland Security Committee and serves on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence assured to seriously look into the matter and take it up with the US State Department.
