Ambassador Mohammad Ziauddin meets USA Chamber of Commerce

UsaNewsOnline : Ambassador of Bangladesh  Mohammad Ziauddin has December 2 attended a roundtable in Washington DC hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce (US-Bangladesh Working Group). The roundtable was attended by a host of prominent US companies such as Chevron, Conoco Philips, Philip Morris International, City Group, Ellicot Dredgers, Cargill Incorporated, the Boeing, among others. The Ambassador was accompanied by Economic Minister Md. Shahabuddin Patwary and  Commercial Counselor M. Shafiqul Islam of the Embassy. Ambassador Ziauddin, in his speech, highlighted the achievements made  by Bangladesh in different sectors under the dynamic and able leadership of the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her efforts to achieve  the Vision-2021- to transform Bangladesh into an industrialized and digitalized middle income country by 2021,the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of Bangladesh. He also highlighted the investment-friendly policies and regimes of Bangladesh, including duty free & quota free market access for Bangladeshi products to many countries of the world urging USA to invest more in Bangladesh  to share the dividends and  contribute to realize  the Vision-2021 of Bangladesh. Some of the the US companies also lauded the achievements made by Bangladesh and shared their experience of working in the country expressing their optimism to expand their activities in future. Many of them thanked the Bangladesh Embassy for its persistent engagement with the US Chamber of Commerce. The Ambassador also responded to the questions of the representatives of the companies on the policies of the Bangladesh Government, especially those related to trade and investment.
