By Mohammad Zainal Abedin : Army helps ensure a fair election in Pakistan. Neither Army nor Judiciary has no political agenda to work in favor any candidate.

Some leading Pakistanis living in overseas made such statements while the above correspondent on behalf of the Weekly Runner talked with them.

After 1971 Pakistanis are going to have a free and fair election on Wednesday, July 25.

Abid Ali, a Pakistan-origin Swedish business magnate and a leading Human Rights activist, who now visits Pakistan informed this correspondent over cell phone from Lahore, the election will be free and fair.

The caretaker government is desperate to hold the election without any external interference.

When his attention was drawn to a section of media that says that Pakistan Judiciary and Army work to bring Imran Khan to Power, Abid Ali said, such media propaganda is “bogus”. I don’t think so. Neither Judiciary nor Army can influence the voters. It is a free election. They cannot impose anything on the voters.

He said, “Adversaries of Pakistan are active to undo Pakistan and they are trying their best to make this election controversial. Our people now are very conscious.  They are aware of our adversaries. People will vote for him who is honest and patriot. Our people are tired of our corrupt rulers and they want to get rid of the mafia clicks. They want a change.”

“I hope people will choose the right person to lead the country in a better way. Judiciary and Army will not manipulate election results,” he said and added, “If the election is hundred percent fair and free, still anti-Pakistan axis will continue their propaganda to create unrest in Pakistan.”

When asked who, according to him is the next PM of Pakistan, Abid Ali said, there will be a heavy contest between Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by former cricket legend chief Imran Khan.

He said, it is difficult to predict, but many Pakistanis will be happy if Imran Khan emerges as the next PM of Pakistan.

When his attention was drawn to the same issues, Aga Muhammad Saleh, a New York-based Pakistani activist informed the Runner that some countries that don’t tolerate even the very existence of Pakistan pour millions of dollars to frustrate the democratic process in Pakistan. Those countries are fueling this propaganda.

He said, Pakistan Judiciary is independent. It doesn’t have any political agenda. On the other hand, Army works under the command of the caretaker government to ensure peaceful fair and free election and the caretaker government was formed by those corrupt people who now manipulate such imaginary stories in the media.

Saleh said, these corrupt elements are totally isolated from the people and apprehending their utter defeat they and their foreign mentors deliberately launch absurd media propaganda blaming Judiciary and Army.

In reply to a question regarding the next PM of Pakistan, Saleh said, it is difficult to say before the final results are declared. However, Imran Khan is personally a strong candidate. I am sure a new face will be the next PM whether it is Imran Khan or anyone else.

Haroon Hasan, a Pakistani businessman in New York said, I am a non-political element. But I can say Pakistanis are tired of the corrupt mafia drug smugglers politicians.

He said, the news what I get from Pakistan is that Imran Khan is going to be next PM of Pakistan, as he has a nice image and free from allegation of corruption.
