ASAAL Pennsylvania Chapter Meeting
UsaNewsOnline.Com, Pennsylvania : Sunday, January 27, 2019 the ASAAL Pennsylvania Chapter met for its 1st meeting of the year at 344 Long Lane, Upperdarby, PA 19082. President Kazi Matiur Rahman presided the meeting while Executive Vice President Shah Farid played the role of Master of Ceremony.
At this meeting ASAAL National President Maf Misbah Uddin, ASAAL First Lady Mazeda Uddin, who is a New York City Voter Assistance Committee Member, and National Corresponding Member Jed Matalon were present.
Also present from near by cities like Philadelphia, Bensalem, and Upperdarby were Sirajul Islam, Advocate Bhutto, Mohammed Sisco, Eng Md Zillur R Mozumder, Sharif Uddin Khan, Mohamed Jashim Uddin, Md Nur Uddin Nahud, Md Rahman, Aminul Chowdhury, Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Mohammed Z Hussain, Mohammed Iqbal Bahar, Mohammed Shahid, and Mohammed Abul Fayez Khan.
At the beginning the Master of Ceremony (MC) Shah Farid lead the prayer and thanked everyone for coming with a short notice and despite the cold weather. President Kazi Rahman also thanked everyone for coming and announced that today’s meeting was arranged to give a reception to our National President who just got re-elected for the 6th term as the Treasurer of DC 37, one of the largest Municipal unions in the country. We will then decide as to how we can do more for our community. Everyone gave a standing ovation to the ASAAL National President.
Kazi Raman concluded by announcing that next month meeting we will install and inaugurate our ASAAL Pennsylvania Chapter Committee for next two years, 2019-2021. Please bring your membership form and membership dues as soon as you can. He urge everyone to join us at the next monthly meeting.

MC Shah Farid then asked everyone to introduce themselves briefly and all those who were present did so enthusiastically. During this time hot coffee and tea were served by chapter volunteers.
After almost all introductions were over, everyone requested President Kazi Rahman to give his 35 years experience of including how he was able to get permission to install Bangladeshi Flags in the Philadelphia City Hall. President Rahman said that, “I’m still recovering from my quadruple bypass surgery and I’m here due to your prayers! I could not do much for ASAAL due to my health but with all of you, together, we will take the ASAAL movement across our State. We will come back at the beginning of March to inaugurate our new Executive Committee, so fill out the forms and bring the dues to be on the committee.”
National President Maf Misbah Uddin said, “we are very thankful to Allah (SWT) for giving mercy on our President Kazi Matiur Rahman for allowing him to come back strong after quadruple by pass surgery and due to his leadership and Shah Farid’s effort we have this meeting, today”! “Since ASAAL’s establishment here on September 10, 2017 you have done great work, including endorsement of Dr. Nina Ahamad, who ran for Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania, a first Bangladeshi to do that anywhere in America”, he added. Mr. Uddin then said, “you all are leaders and we all have a story to tell, but the story our community want to hear is that, how your leadership can help them and can help our community rise and help everyone to fulfill their American dream!”
At the end everyone served with dinner, got individually acquainted with each other and decided to come back soon under the ASAAL banner.
