BRONX BOROUGH PRESIDENT DIAZ HOSTS ANNUAL ECUADORIAN HERITAGE CELEBRATION
UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, New York : On Thursday, September 20, 2018, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted his annual Ecuadorian Heritage Celebration. recognizing the country’s culture and honoring individuals who have greatly contributed to New York City and The Bronx. The event took place at The Bronx County Building, Veterans’ Memorial Hall, and was co-hosted by Abriendo Brecha International.
Among the honorees were Luis Quishpi — Governor of the province of Cañar, entrepreneur Walter Cullispuma, Luis Montalvo — Executive Board member of Local 79, and Jorge Merchan — President of the Comité Civico Ecuatoriano.
“Ecuadorans have made many great contributions to the civic and cultural life of our borough and our city,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. “We are a nation of immigrants and these honorees exemplify everything what it means to achieve ‘The American Dream.’ I am proud to once again host this important community celebration.” Press Release.
