BROOKLYN-Q​UEENS NOW ENDORSES LIU ON 50th ANNIVERSAR​Y OF EQUAL PAY ACT

NEW YORK, NY – The National Organization for Women (NOW) Brooklyn-Queens Chapter Political Action Committee (PAC) endorsed John Liu for Mayor.

“Brooklyn-Queens NOW is proud to endorse John Liu for Mayor,” Brooklyn-Queens NOW President Shirley Ranz said.  “Comptroller Liu has a history of fighting for women. He continues to be in the forefront of the struggle against sexual trafficking. As comptroller he demonstrated the need for Pay Equity legislation. We are confident that he will be a mayor that the women of New York can rely on.”

“NOW is the preeminent organization advocating for women’s rights, which are among the most important issues today facing not only women, but working people, immigrants and families,” Comptroller Liu said. “The anniversary of the Equal Pay Act reminds us how far we’ve come but, more importantly, how much more there is to do.  I am proud to have this endorsement and will continue to fight for issues important to NOW members and New Yorkers alike.”

Brooklyn-Queens NOW is a grassroots, civil rights organization dedicated to women’s rights issues.  The Brooklyn-Queens Chapter has its own Political Action Committee (PAC) which allows them to endorse candidates for elected offices.Press Release
