NYC Council Member Richards Responds to the Court Ruling on Releasing Body Cam Footage to the Public

It’s a great day for transparency in New York City and a win for the public, local reporters and NYPD officers themselves. Not only will this footage reveal patterns of misconduct, but it will also clear officers of alleged wrongdoing, which will help show New Yorkers why the NYPD is considered the best police force in the country. Now, we can move on to addressing the larger issue preventing a truly transparent NYPD: 50-a.”
